Heavenly Father,
I need your grace this week, like all other weeks. My natural inclination is to go about my day not giving you nearly enough focus and attention. Lord, I need you. I need your mercy, grace, love, and wisdom.
Father, help me when things happen this week that might take my focus away from you. I’m sure there will be plenty of circumstances that will tempt me to distrust you or will push me to rely on my own “wisdom.” When that happens, keep my eyes fixated on your glory.
Lord, push my heart to read your Word each day. Let me not forget that reading your Word is so important for my walk with you. And please forgive me when I neglect it; or worse, when I don’t want to. Father, you’re so good to me even when I’m not good to you. Incline my heart to your Word and may Scripture saturate my mind as I go about my week.
Gracious Father, I know there will be things that test my patience, tempt my anger, and cause my irritation to fester. Let me not respond to those things in ungodly ways, but model the way of Christ.
Lord, help me be a better employee at work, ensuring that I’m giving my all, that I am a good co-worker, that I do my job well to your glory.
Help me be a better father to my two girls this week, to exercise patience and strength under control; help me have a compassionate attitude to them and love them with the love of Christ; help me discipline biblically when it needs done and simply set a godly example.
Father, help me be a better husband. Marriage has done many things for me, with the biggest being revealing my sins. Help me serve my wife with gladness and sacrifice for her; help me think of her more significant than myself, as I should do for everyone. Lord Jesus, help me lead her spiritually in Scripture reading, in prayer, in all things. Help me love her as Christ loves me.
Lord, lastly, help me be a better Christian this week. In other words, mold me more into your Son’s image. I want to be made more like Jesus. I know that means won’t always be easy; I know you shape me more into his image not through peaks, but valleys. Help me keep my eyes on you in those moments.
In Jesus name, amen.

This is excellent!
